SOHAM man Timothy Ford was banned from driving for one year, after admitting being drunk in charge of a car at the Princess of Wales car park in Ely on May 29. Ford, 52, of The Cotes, had previously denied the offence, but changed his plea on the day his trial was due to take place.
He had also denied drink-driving in Lynn Road, Ely, on May 29. The Crown Prosecution Service offered no evidence and that allegation was dismissed. The court was told that Ford had given a breath reading almost three times the legal limit when breathalysed on May 29. He was fined £60 and ordered to pay £175 costs and a £15 surcharge.
