DRINK-driver Adam Bailey gave a breath test reading more than double the legal alcohol limit after he was involved in a road accident at Little Thetford.
Police were called to the two vehicle crash on the A10 on November 14, and found Bailey in his garden.
After arrest, 37-year-old Bailey gave a test reading of 84 mcgs of alcohol in 100 mls of breath, when the legal limit is 35mcgs.
"The last year has not been good for me, my wife is divorcing me, I have lost my house and I am off work," he told Ely magistrates.
Bailey, who is living with his parents at Ely Road, Little Thetford, added: "It was a very serious thing that I did, and I know I should not have done it, I can't explain why I did it on that particular day."
Bailey was banned from driving for 20 months, and fined £10 with £95 costs and a £15 surcharge.
