DRINK driver Shawn Blackman is hoping that magistrates will not ban him from driving, because he was driving in an emergency situation when he committed the offence last month.
Ely magistrates are due to hear the application from 34-year-old Blackman, 34, of Fitzgerald Close, Ely, at a hearing on February 21.
Blackman has admitted that he gave a test reading of 49 mcgs of alcohol in 100 mls of breath, when the legal limit is 35 mcgs, after driving a Volkswagen Golf on December 2.
