Police have issued a warning to local drivers to take care on the roads after a car ended up in a water-filled ditch in Isleham.
The car, a Toyota Hilux, is believed to have skidded off the road before taking out a telegraph pole and ending up in the ditch at around 9.15pm on Wednesday (1).
The driver, a 34-year-old man, was uninjured, but police have used the accident as a warning to other drivers to be vigilant of road surfaces during the winter months.
Sergeant Phil Priestley said: “It’s the type of accident that could have been much worse, but thankfully the driver left the vehicle relatively unharmed.
“We’ve recently been sharing publicity about the value of the seat belt and there’s no question that in circumstances like these, seat belts save lives.”
