Harry Potters, Gruffalos and Alice’s in Wonderland helped celebrate Children’s Book Week at King’s Ely Acremont.
Little ones dressed up as their favourite story characters on Monday, including a colourful costume parade of Little Red Riding Hoods, pirates and Where’s Wally.
During the week, reception children visited Ely’s Burrows Bookshop and Year 2 students went to King’s Ely’s Library, The Porta.
Children’s author, Nick Butterworth, also visited and met with children and signed copies of their books.
There were also storytelling sessions with Annabel Reddick, owner of Burrow’s Bookshop, Michelle Larbey, Laura Robson Brown and Katherine Mann, author and creator of ‘Fitz and Will: The Cambridge Cats’ series.
The Cambridge Cats themselves also made a guest appearance.
Jon Willcocks, head of King’s Ely Acremont, said: “Meeting the authors really brings books to life, allowing the children to learn about their lives and their inspiration.
