DOUGLAS White has died at the home of his niece in Pondersbridge at the age of 74. Born in Whittington, Thetford, he lived with his wife of 41 years, Violet, in Limes Close Littleport. Douglas was an agricultural worker for Thompson Farms Ltd for 31 years. More recently he became a full-time carer for his wife and was well-known in Littleport for pushing Violet in her wheelchair. The couple loved their holidays to Hunstanton and, lately, with the Red Cross to the Lake District.

He attended St George's Church, Littleport, was a member of the Ex- Serviceman's Club, Over-60s and the Day Centre. Douglas also enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and a pint.

His funeral took place on January 16 at St George's Church, Littleport, led by the Rev Rosemary Maskell.
