SAILING for the disabled charity Sailability will benefit to the tune of almost £1,000 thanks to a donation from Jill Sallis, chairman of District 8 Inner Wheel.
A cheque for £860 was presented to the Grafham Water Sailability Group by Mrs Sallis, which is half the money raised during her year in office.
The other half will be presented to Waveney Sailability Group on Oulton Broad at a later date.
A Scrabble competition, named the Scrabble Paddle, was held on the day, during which £136 was raised for Sailability. The competition, held at Ely Sailing Club's clubhouse, ended in a three-way tie, but the eventual winner, decided on total games scores, was March's Pat Frost, who managed 1,038 points and won four out of her five games played.
