COUNCILLOR Pauline Wilson reported that although the district council was not liable for the problems at Littleport with contaminated land, a recommendation had been put forward for £370,000 to be spent from the Revenue reserves to clear the land in order to help the house owners. Cllr Wilson also advised that she had recommended some of this expenditure should be claimed back from the developers, gas board and central government.
Cllr Gareth Wilson reported that the district council is looking for a site to provide parking for Ely railway station. He also reported that the increase in council tax had been set at 2.5 per cent.
