Little Thetford schoolboy Oliver Chapman has raised hundreds of pounds for charity by completing a run.
Oliver who survived a life-threatening strain of meningitis when he was just six-months-old and spent three days under constant observation from doctors, who warned his parents Tracey and Drew he might not survive.
But, thankfully, Oliver did pull through and is now thriving at Little Thetford Primary School.
Oliver has raised over £550 for local charity Little Miracles which supports disabled children and their families.
Last year he raised a similar sum with a run in Milton Keynes for Meningitis Research Foundation. Mrs Chapman said: “Oliver has a strong sense of right and wrong, and was diagnosed as having an autistic spectrum disorder three years ago. Despite the challenges we cherish every day and we realize how fortunate Oliver is to have survived the illness. “Oliver attends Little Thetford Primary School and we try to do activities to encourage Oliver to think of others. With lots of encouragement Oliver completed the run which was a huge achievement. We are really proud of Oliver having completed the run and also wanted to thank Little Miracles for their support over the years.”
