A Government agency has decided against moving some front line staff into the reception area of East Cambridgeshire District Council.
The Department for Work and Pensions had been looking to house some staff in the reception area of the council’s offices in The Grange, Nutholt Lane, Ely.
Councillors have been told the agency withdrew” due to them requiring nine members of staff. Unfortunately due to the space constraints this is not possible at the current time.”
Undaunted the council’s project manager says he has approached another service “which supports local residents across East Cambridgeshire to ascertain whether they would be receptive” to take space.
The council says that once this has been discussed further they hope to present a full business case to the transformation programme sub committee.
