DRIVING a car with a defective tyre landed Soham woman Kelly Nemecek with a six month driving ban this week.
The faulty tyre was discovered after Nemecek was involved in a road accident on the A14 at Newmarket.
She admitted using a Mitsubishi car when the cord was exposed on the front offside tyre on February 28.
But the 25-year-old insurance worker pleaded with Ely magistrates for the retention of her licence, saying she needed to drive to work, and to transport her fiance's young daughter to visit the child's mother.
But Ely magistrates were unmoved, and the three points they added to Nemecek's licence on Thursday brought her total to 12, making her liable to a ban under the totting up procedure.
Nemecek was fined £125 with £35 costs.
