HURT and angry to discover that his former partner had slept with someone else, Timothy Buchanan pushed a ladder through her glass door.
He also ripped the flap off the letter box at Donna Bush's Hereward Housing property in Ely.
At the city courthouse on Thursday, 36-year-old Buchanan, of New Barns Avenue, Ely, admitted causing £60 worth of criminal damage to the property on February 26.
"Donna Bush had ended the relationship a month earlier," said prosecutor Delia Matthews. "On February 26 Buchanan went to her address, he got angry and caused the damage."
Buchanan had a previous conviction for criminal damage, but had not offended for six years, she told the court.
The court fined Buchanan £100 with £70 costs, and told him to pay £60 compensation to Hereward Housing.
