A MOTORIST was hit with a summons following a collision involving a cyclist on Friday.

The incident took place on Lisle Lane in Ely at about 7.20am, with a cyclist left with serious injuries after being knocked off a bike.

Ambulance crews were quickly on scene and the cyclist was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with what police described as “serious but not life threatening” injuries.

Lisle Lane was briefly closed while paramedics tended to the cyclist, with traffic allowed to pass again by 8.30am.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said the driver of the car involved was issued with a court summons for driving without due care.
