Blaze on industrial estate in Sutton
FIRE crews battled for more than two hours to put out a blaze on an industrial estate in Sutton on Tuesday.
Two crews from Ely and a crew from Cottenham were called to the Elean Power Station on the A142 at 7.36pm and arrived to find a blaze had taken hold of the station’s furnace.
The crews used breathing apparatus and two hose reels to tackle the flames, which were eventually brought under control shortly before 10pm.
An investigation found that the cause of the fire was accidental, due to the machinery.
