DURING praise and worship led by Keith Waters at Sunday morning's service, there was a time of reflection on the love and power of Jesus, the Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit. Pastor Lowman spoke from Exodus 17 v. 8-16, the theme 'The Power of Prayer' which is the power house of the church. Holy Communion was celebrated at the close of service.

The prayer meeting held before the evening service was a time of thanksgiving and intercessory prayers. Philip Murfitt was the worship leader. Pat Macks shared a letter received, highlighting the power of prayer working in situations too difficult for man alone to accomplish. The sermon was based on the Third Letter of John with reference to verse 11 to 'Imitate God and not Evil'.

The 501 Group met in the hall at 8pm their theme was 'fear of failure'. Yesterday evening, the quarterly church meeting was held. Tonight the Churches Together in Ely meet at 7.45pm in the hall. The elders and deacons meet at 7am for prayer on Saturday morning.

The service next Sunday morning will be a family service led by Brian Mitchell. Pastor Lowman will take the evening one.
