ANDY Watson led the praise and worship on Sunday morning. Being the first Sunday in Advent one candle was lit to represent the message of hope of Jesus the Messiah coming into the world at Christmas.

The Sunday School children held a time of worship in the hall. During their time of instruction they listened to the theme 'Jesus at the centre' and also had an opportunity to make a Christingle.

Pastor Lowman took as his theme for his message 'Jesus the light of the world', a reference made to Isaiah 9, 2-7 and John 8, 12-30. Holy Communion was celebrated.

On Sunday evening, Gillian Jarrett from the church read one of the lessons at the Advent Carol Service in the cathedral.

The prayer meeting on Wednesday evening was focused on the Christmas services and outreach being held in the community.

Next Sunday afternoon at 5pm, the Power Pack and J Team - two young people's clubs - and Sunday School children will have their nativity service to which all are invited. Afterwards there will be a time of fellowship in the hall when refreshments will also be served.
