MR MITCHELL led the Youth Anniversary Service on Sunday morning. The theme was 'God's Creation' and the hymn All Things Bright and Beautiful was sung. The scripture was Genesis (Chapter 1 verses 1-31). A sketch by three children entitled 'three houses' was portrayed. Another action song was also performed by the children and congregation. Younger children had produced coloured pictures depicting various aspects of God's creation. The service closed with singing.
From 5pm until 6pm, people met to pray for the physical and spiritual needs of the people of Sierra Leone which the churches support through prayer, gifts and finances during every year. The churches have taken to their hearts the people of Sierra Leone.
At 6.30pm, Mr Watson led the worship, accompanied by the musicians. The hymns were relevant to God and His love to all people. Mr Betts began a new series entitled 'the big journey', which tells the story from creation to re-creation. Part One was entitled 'charting our course'. The talk was accompanied by slides.
An information sheet was given to all who attended, which fully described every aspect of the first stage of 'the big journey'.
The various House Groups met to discuss the final study of Haggai and also to pray for various needs within and without the church.
On Wednesday afternoon, Mr Marsh spoke at the Fellowship Hour.
Today (Thursday) the pastor and the two elders meet for a time of prayer, meditation and seeking the Lord's guidance clearly for the way ahead for His church within the Countess Church.
Tomorrow (Friday) there is a group of young people accompanied by adults going to Fort Rocky for a time of meeting with other people and to participate in both physical actions and also to receive biblical insight from the team heading the course.
