East Cambridgeshire District Council has dismissed two members of staff for gross misconduct in the last two years.
In October 2013, one employee in the council’s development services team was suspended for 25 days and subsequently fired for a breach of the council’s code of practice.
The former member of staff was paid £4,487.67 in wages during the time of the suspension.
A second member of staff, who was dismissed in October 2014, was a member of the parks and open spaces team and was fired for breaching the council’s misuse of drugs and alcohol policy.
That member of staff was suspended for 28 days before being fired, picking up £3,031.08 in wages in the meantime.
The data was released under the Freedom of Information Act showed and showed that neither case resulted in a pay out and both resulted in dismissal.
In October last year, the council had 197 staff on its books.
