HISTORY came to life at an Ely school on Tuesday, when St John's Junior School hosted a Tudor day. 6Sixty children dressed in traditional Tudor costumes and took part in various period activities.

The children were led by staff from Cambridge-based company History Off The Page, which educates through practical learning storytelling and drama.

The children made candles, leather books, and apocathary tables and learned about traditional herbal remedies and medicines of the era.
