A free all-day concert will be held on Saturday November 3 to raise money to restore the grand piano at Octavia Hill’s Birthplace House in Wisbech.

The concert will be non-stop over eight hours from 10-6pm and features a varied programme ranging from pop, jazz and folk to classical.

Entry is free but donations and money raised through sponsorship will go towards the piano fund.

The tea room will be open all day for refreshments, too.

Amongst the musicians already signed up for the event are guitarists, solo and duet singers, recorder consort, violinist, flautist, piano students, and the Clarkson Singers.

Loc-Mai Yuen-Brooker, event organiser, said: “This is a great opportunity to have a fun day sharing music from local talented musicians.

“It will be an enjoyable way to raise funds towards the piano in the Long Room.”

Any instrumentalists or vocalists wishing to participate should call Loc-Mai on 07976 140398.

A JustGiving page is open for anyone who wishes to donate, but can’t attend on the day.
