Computer-savvy students from across Cambridgeshire were welcomed to King’s Ely Junior to take part in an exciting and innovative computer festival.
King’s Ely teamed up with Intel and the Tablet Academy to host a free workshop for teachers and students to explore computing using Intel powered mobile devices as a tool to facilitate learning in a fun and engaging way.
Activities covered a range of computing activities, including programming a games controller, measuring objects using the tablet camera and programming a robot around an obstacle course.
Head of ICT and Computing at King’s Ely Junior, Nigel Ovens, said: “The students enjoyed trying all the different options on display and they were focused and truly absorbed in each of the activities.”
Marc Hawes, Senior’s Head of ICT, added: “It was wonderful to see how engaged the pupils were in the activities, which demonstrated programming is not only confined to the desktop.”
