A 14-year-old boy was punched and kicked in a Littleport street after he tried to escape from his attackers.
Two older teenagers got out of a car before assaulting the schoolboy, punching and kicking him.
The two assailants, one aged 17 and the other 16, appeared before Ely youth court on Thursday, when they both admitted assault, and failing to surrender to their bail on September 18.
"Without warning one of the attackers lashed out and hit the victim on the chin, and he tried to run away," said Penny Cannon, prosecuting. "The victim was grabbed and thrown in a hedge, and then punched and kicked."
Some time later the two attackers saw their victim again, he was chased and was injured as he fell.
Solicitor Lowri Roberts said the incident was not "a stranger attack," but there had been a long standing disagreement between the boys.

Representing the younger attacker, Jacqui Baldwin claimed the victim had been baiting her client.
"He should not have risen to the bait, he knows his behaviour was inappropriate," she added.
Both youths were given a three-month reparation order and ordered to pay 20 compensation.
