St Peter's Church
ON Sunday, 19 April, the celebrant and preacher at the 9.15am Sung Eucharist will be the Revd John Sansom.
THE silent Walk of Witness on Good Friday through Ely briefly brought traffic to a halt and the short service in the square reflected upon suffering. The joy of Easter day and the risen Christ was celebrated in 8.30am Communion led by Rob Booth and in 10.30am morning service led by the Rev Gordon Lowman with the theme 'the resurrected Christ'.
Next Sunday Family Service at 10.30am.
Ely Northwold WI
THE April meeting of Ely Northwold WI was held at DJs Garden Centre in Chatteris.
President Rosemary Green welcomed members and guests .Birthday gifts and cards were presented to Lia Conder and Monique Griffiths.
David White from DJs gave a very informative talk and demonstration on seasonal hanging baskets. He was thanked by Rosemary.
Refreshments were taken at the cafe in the Garden Centre. Raffle prize winners were Kate Hopkinson, Rose-marie Lawrence and Pat Miles.
Next month's meeting will be held at the Cathedral Centre on May 13 at 7.15pm when the speaker will be Bob Lemon from Littleport on Bee Keeping. Visitors welcome.
CELEBRANT and preacher at St Michael and All Angels ' Easter Sunday service was Rev john Sansom. The organist was Beth Stokes. The first lesson was read by Michael richer and the offertory was presented by Lee Howard.
This Sunday morning prayer will be held at 9.15am.
AT the April meeting, the members who had attended Denman College demonstrated how to make to make Creative Cards. They had been funded for the Denman College course by the 'Awards for All' Lottery grant. The paintings by members who attend the Watercolour Course were also on display.
The members had great fun trying their hand at Decoupage, Iris Folding and Encaustic Art.
At the meeting on May 5, Mr Ashmeade will talk about 'Haddenham in the year 2000'.
As part of the Churches' Link events Haddenham Baptist Church is organising an It's a Knockout for Jesus event to be held at the Robert Arkenstall School on June 13 (entries by May 26).
Families or organisations are needed to enter teams of six. It can be a couple of families together or just some friends. There will be a variety of age groups taking part for all sorts of categories.

IN March two events raised funds for worthwhile organisations: the Lent Lunch raised �223 for Christian Aid and the Coffee/cake morning raised more than �230 for a school for deaf children in Kenya. Envelopes for Easter Offerings will be dedicated at a rally here on May 6 together with gifts of tools for gardening and woodworking to be sent to Third World countries; this event is organised by Women's Network, a branch of Methodist Missionary Work Overseas.
Sunday's service (April 5) was led by the Rev Chris Baker of Ely. On Good Friday the church and congregation took part in the walk of witness and service at Holy Trinity. On Saturday the monthly cake/coffee/quiz event was held and the preacher on Easter Sunday was Rev Barbara Garwood.
St George's Church
EASTER Sunday: The vicar presided at the first Eucharist of Easter Day at 6am. This Service included the renewal of Baptismal Vows. She also presided at the 10am Parish Eucharist for Easter, when John Marshall delivered the sermon.
This Sunday (Low Sunday): 8am - Holy Communion. 10am - Morning Prayer Service led by Jane Harris, who will also preach.
Monday: 12.30pm - Daily Prayers.

Vine Community Church
THE Sunday, April 19 service will be at 10.30am with contemporary music worship and the sermon by Pastor Don Gee.
Youth and children's Sunday school is provided during the sermon and the cr�che is open for the little ones from 10.15am.
After the service you are welcome to stay for coffee, tea, and fellowship
We are planning a renewal of wedding vows ceremony. If you have any ideas to make this day special or you would like to participate, please let the leadership team know.
Next week small groups will be meeting to fellowship and encourage one another in their designated homes.

LINDA Harvey welcomed members to the meeting held on April 9. She thanked members for supporting the Barn Dance last month.
A quiz night and fish and chip supper with Peter Allen has been rearranged for April 16 at 7.00pm prompt.
China mugs were awarded to Anne White and Diana Tooke.
Monica Askay demonstrated some of the cookery skills practiced during World War Two, which brought back memories for a few members who then enjoyed a tasting session.
There were 29 entries in the competition for a pretty tea towel.
The next WI meeting will be on May 14, when Paul Bass will be speaking on Trading Standards. The competition will be a holiday souvenir.
THERE were four tables in play at the whist drive held in aid of Cancer Research on April 6 in the Social Club when Mrs M Dewsbery was MC. Winners were: A Bell, Mrs N Bean, Mrs A Houghton, K Cornwell, N Synejko, Mrs D Perrin, Mrs P Jordan and Mrs E Sizer. Highest halves: Mrs M Dewsbery and R Saberton. Most Tens: F Tall. Consolation: Mrs P Brand; Draw: F Tall, Mrs E Sizer, Mrs I Butcher; K Cornwell, Mrs P Brand, Mrs D Perrin, Mrs H Sturman and Mrs N Bean.
