Who are you?
I'm Naomi Sherwood, getting on a bit now, originally from Manchester moving down to Ely three years ago this month.
What do you do?
I am business development manager for MetroRod Cambridge based in Ely and I am organising through MetroRod the very first Ely Hero Awards. First and foremost, I’m a wife and a mummy to the best boys in the world.
Why would people know you?
Not too sure, don’t know if I’ve lived here long enough yet, but if anyone has seen the promotion surrounding the Ely Hero Awards maybe through that.
On a scale of 1-10 (10 highest) what do you rate your sense of humour?
1! Its terrible and northern too!
Tell us a joke.
The pollen count….now that’s a difficult job if you have hayfever
Fruit tinned or fresh?
I do love a tinned peach but you can’t beat a beautiful local grown summer strawberry!
What is your favourite thing about East Cambridgeshire?
I love the endless skies and the stunning sunsets. It might sound strange but I really like to see the beautiful rich black “Fen” soil against the green of the fields, the quiet of the countryside with its natural beauty.
Which TV programme has you reaching for the off button?
It has to be Big Brother!
Which three people would you like to have dinner with?
The Grandma and Grandad, who I never had the privilege to meet and Peter Kay.
Who was your childhood hero and why?
Am I allowed five?! Has to be “The Famous Five”…. sighs…..oh how I would have loved their adventures….sandwiches wrapped in greaseproof paper and lashings of ginger beer!
Your claim to fame.
I’ve met Bryan Adams after a concert, my friend went on stage with him to sing a duet during his show and he invited us all back stage, gave us signed programmes and t-shirts – lovely bloke!
Biggest regret in life or biggest achievement?
Biggest achievement is having my son….I am truly blessed.
