Who are you? I am Cathy Wright, wife, and mother of three fairly grown up children – on a good day!

What do you do?

I am the project director for Ely Foodbank.

Why would people know you?

I’ve lived just outside of Ely for nearly 18 years, not sure if that qualifies as a local although I have had the privilege of getting to know many people through my work. It’s also possible some people would know me as a regular coffee drinker in a few establishments in Ely but these places do double up as my office, so I think that justifies it.

On a scale of 1-10 (10 highest) what do you rate your sense of humour?

If you asked my family they would say I find myself very funny but nobody else does! So, I’d rate my humour around 10!

Give us at least five pet hates.

This would have to be about driving as I spend a lot of time in the car. My main pet hate is drivers reinventing the priority rules at junctions, closely followed by those who drive at 49 mph. Non driving pet hate – my daughter’s bedroom!

Is it time for Britain to abolish the Royal Family?

No, I think they bring a lot to our country, as traditions are fast disappearing in our lives so this is a great one to hold on to.

What is your favourite thing about East Cambridgeshire?

I love being so close to our glorious Cathedral and seeing it across the fens as the sun sets, there is no better sight. Also, if people remark how flat this area is, I point them to our big skies!

If you won £5,000 what would you spend it on?

I would give it to the Foodbank as we are currently fundraising to keep our operations running smoothly. Check out our 777 campaign on our website.

Your claim to fame.

The Queen drove past the ice-skating ring at Sandringham and waved directly at me, I like to think my skating caught her eye!

Biggest regret in life or biggest achievement?

Biggest achievement – easy, having my three wonderful children.
