A pedestrian who died after he was in collision with a car on the A142 at Stuntney on Sunday morning has been named as Craig Hammond. Mr Hammond, who is aged 23, is from Crown Square in King's Lynne. The driver of a Citroen Xantia, a 48-year-old man from Ely, involved in the collision was uninjured.
Cambridgeshire police dealt with five fatal and one serious injury road accidents over the weekend, two of them, including the incident at Stuntney, were in the Ely area.
The first one happened on Friday, just after 5pm, when a man in his late 70s died after his Volvo V40 left the road at the junction of Church Street and Cannon Street in Little Downham.
Police are appealing for witnesses to both collisions and would like anyone with information to contact the road policing unit on 0845 4564564.
