THE friends and family of a 26-year-old airman from Littleport who was killed in a collision on a busy main road at the weekend have been left "heartbroken."

Bradley Todd Ring, of Main Street, was driving a Honda Accord along the A1101 Mildenhall Road on Saturday when he was involved with a collision with a Mazda that saw both vehicles leaves the road and end up in a field.

Police, fire-fighters and ambulance crews all attended the scene but were unable to save the 26-year-old who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kathy Faelber, a 56-year-old music teacher from Mildenhall who was driving the Mazda, was also killed in the incident.

Neither car was carrying any passengers at the time of the collision.

Mr Ring was an airman with United States Air Force (USAF) based at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk though it is understood that much of his family live in California.

Wing commander at RAF Mildenhall, Col. Chad Manske, said: “We are deeply saddened by this tragedy,”

“Bradly was a valued member of Team Mildenhall and his untimely death touches all the personnel at the surrounding bases. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends effected by this heartbreaking event.”

Though she lived in Mildenhall, Mrs Faelber was involved with teaching music in East Cambridgeshire and Fenland through her work with Fenland Music Centre.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact PC David Halling the Cambridgeshire Road’s Policing Unit on 0345 456 4564.
