A coffee morning supported by Ely Mayor Lis Every has raised over £240 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The event organised by EACH and held at the Cathedral Centre attracted a steady stream of visitors throughout the day.
Mrs Every, who adopted EACH as her charity last year, said: “I was asked to attend to support the event even though it isn’t my main mayor’s charity, which of course I was happy to do. I organised a coffee morning for the charity last year and they wanted to mirror that this year. I have to say the cake was some of the best I have ever tasted. People were very generous and we raised £246.”
