MORE than 70 cyclists took part in a bike ride on Sunday to support the Sue Ryder Care charity in Ely.

Fund-raisers were able to take part in a 10, 19 or 50-mile bike ride around Ely to raise money for the charity which supports people with brain injury or brain disease.

Organiser Beth Rigg said: "I'd like to thank everyone involved in the Sue Ryder Care Bike Ride for making the day such an enjoyable success. 70 cyclists turned up to support their local charity and cycle the three routes on offer. It was such a positive day and everyone really enjoyed themselves. The Waterbeach Barracks were fantastic and it is because of their support and the support of local people, the event was such a success. We hope to raise more than £3,000 by collecting in everyone's kind donations and sponsorship money. It was a really enjoyable day and we hope to make it an annual event after the reaction of everyone taking part
