THE first meeting of the new year was held on February 1. Jaime Townsend was the demonstrator. Although not used to flower clubs and with a time limit, he gave some good tips. His six designs had a Dutch influence. A frame made with twigs and wool, hand ties with twigs as an outline, bear grass platted and cornis stalks wired and twisted into shape. They all contained hyacinths, daffodils, tulips, freesias and amaryllis, a lovely spring collection. The next meeting will be on March 1, with Robin Page at 7.30pm in Needhams Hall at the City of Ely College.
