ON March 1, Robin Page (the vocal yokel) gave a talk. He lives next door to the farm where he was born and spent his school days collecting tadpoles with a fox cub for a pet. Thirty years ago he wrote The decline of the English village. Seeing the wildlife disaster he joined with friends to form The Countryside Restoration Trust. He spoke of the decline of things he was used to in his childhood and how, at Lark Rise Farm with its grassy margins, hay meadows, smaller fields and new hedges wldlife is coming back. Next meeting is March 29 at 7.15pm when Ann Bridges will talk on 'colour matters'. All welcome. Visitors £3.50. Tel: Grace on 01353 661457.
