Churches counting the cost of burglary spree

VANDALS and thieves have targeted churches across the district. Twenty-two have been hit in the south of the county since June 10. A saw or grinder was used to cut through the door of All Saints Church, at Landbeach causing £1,000 damage. Burglars stole

VANDALS and thieves have targeted churches across the district. Twenty-two have been hit in the south of the county since June 10.

A saw or grinder was used to cut through the door of All Saints' Church, at Landbeach causing £1,000 damage.

Burglars stole £75 from the safe and collection box.

At St Mary's Church, in Stow-cum-Quy, thieves stripped lead from the roof, resulting in substantial flooding , damaging the interior and the organ.

In other break-ins, laptops, DVD and CD players have been stolen and damage caused.
