PARENTS of reception children at Spring Meadow Infant and Nursery School were delighted by a performance of Mary's Knitting last week.

The nativity story was re-told through songs and dance and followed the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, where Mary knitted a blanket for her baby boy.

Children at the school also celebrated Christmas with a week of arts activities.

Parents visited the school on Friday, where they had the opportunity to look at the festive work and displays and enjoy a mince pie.

# PUPILS from two Ely schools will provide seasonal entertainment at carol services next week.

Hereward Housing holds annual carol services for its residents, and this year they are on Monday and Tuesday.

Both will be held at Ely St Mary's Church, opposite the Hereward offices in St Mary's Street, starting at 10.30am each day.

Pupils from Spring Meadow Infants and Nursery School will entertain at the service on Monday and will be followed by pupils from St Mary's Junior School on Tuesday.

The Rev Fred Kilner will conduct the services and traditional mince pies will be served at the end.
