Pudsey ears and spotty socks resulted in King’s Ely raising hundreds of pounds for Children in Need.
Pupils and staff at King’s Ely Acremont and Nursery and King’s Ely Junior grabbed their spottiest and wackiest accessories and went the extra mile to celebrate the annual fundraising campaign on November 16.
At King’s Ely Acremont and Nursery, a ‘dress down day’ saw the youngest children wearing their pyjamas and the older pupils sporting spotty accessories.
Many donned Pudsey ears but there were also some marvellous spotty ties, hats, scarves, headbands and socks.
The total raised by King’s Ely Acremont and Nursery was £300.
At King’s Ely Junior, students were also invited to wear something spotty with their uniform and there was a cake sale during morning break to top up additional funds.
The total raised by King’s Ely Junior was £600, which is being split between Children in Need and one of the school’s chosen charities of the year, Cancer Research UK.
Since 1980, Children in Need has raised millions of pounds for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
