SOHAM Village College pupils are to get a lesson on how to stay safe on the internet.
Year 7 pupils will take part in an interactive session with internet security expert, Ian Hill through a scheme run by Childnet International.
Father-of-three Ian works with schools throughout the UK teaching children how to surf the web safely.
He said: "I know through the experience of my own children that the internet plays an important part in the lives of young people - they use it for homework, to pursue hobbies and to socialise.
"I'm also aware of the risks that young people can face when they're online, however, whether through fraud, spyware and viruses or predatory adults. Through the Childnet training, they learn about the potential dangers, how to protect themselves and how to identify situations where they need to seek advice from a parent or teacher."
Dr Carin Taylor, headteacher at Soham Village College, said: "We know that although many of our pupils spend a lot of time online, parents often don't have the necessary IT knowledge or awareness of the potential risks themselves to ensure that their children are safe when they're using the internet.
