Russell Gooderham of Kimbolton Fireworks, said: “We are pleased to have been asked to present this year’s firework display, especially as we know that all net proceeds will be going to local charities and good causes.

“Our selected team is of the highest quality and we are aiming at a display not seen before.

“It will be fired electronically and will consist of far more than just more of the same.

“You need to be there to really appreciate it.”

Kimbolton Fireworks have created displays for some of the UK’s largest and most prestigious events, from Trafalgar 200 and the 50th anniversary of VJ Day in London, to Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve Celebrations, London Eye and St Patrick’s Day, Dublin.

In 2012, Kimbolton Fireworks provided displays for the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics.

A Rotary Club spokesman said: “Such displays have set the standard throughout the UK. For our event this year, the company has been designing and preparing a unique display. It will be fired electronically and will consist of far more than just more of the same.

“You need to be there to really appreciate it.”
