Wilburton Beer Festival held its beneficiary ceremony to formally present donations to local groups from the £6,500 raised at the 2015 event.

The presentation was held at The Kings Head pub in the village.

Donations were given to a record number of organisations including: Wilburton Cricket Club, Wilburton Theatre Group, Haddenham Rovers Colts Football Club, Stretham Sporting Football Club, Haddenham First Responders, Humpty’s Pre-School, The Liam Fairhurst Foundation, H.E.A.R.T, Wilburton Baptist Baby and Toddler Group, The Harbour School, St Peter’s Over 60s Club, Wilburton Baptist Chapel, St Peter’s Church, Haddenham Bonfire Committee, Stretham Scouts, Cubs and Beavers, Wilburton Guides, Brownies and Rainbows, Wilburton School Association and Wilburton Out of School Club.

Kevin Hennessy, chairman of Wilburton Beer Festival, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been able to make these donations to such a large number of local clubs, charities and organisations.

“The festival has been running for 17 years and we have had a lot of fun raising over £56,000 in this time.

“It is always brilliant to see the local community pulling together to put on the event and we are currently working very hard to put on another fabulous event for the 18th Wilburton Beer Festival, which will be held on the June 18 and 19.”
