THE Specsavers branch in Ely handed over an eye-popping £1,500 to the East Anglian Air Ambulance this week.

Staff at the High Street branch helped to sell tickets for Ely’s annual firework display run by Ely XT in November and, on Thursday, they handed over a share of the profits to air ambulance, their chosen charity.

Mark Anderson, director at the Ely branch, praised the “amazing and invaluable” work of the air ambulance as he handed over the cheque to Chris Donaldson.
