A fun day for all the family raised more than £1,600 for a Littleport charity.
The money raised will go towards the refurbishment of
Branching Out’s workshop, which costs around £12,000.
Susan Wiggans, Branching Out manager, said: “We put so much effort into this event and we just want to thank everyone who made it all possible as well as the community who came out in their droves to support us.
“We would also like to thank our local runner Cathy Gibb-de Swarte who was running for our charity in Littleport’s 10k run two Sundays ago and raised £116.86.”
Cathy said: “Branching Out know how to put an event on, and the family fun day certainly entertained the community.
“Their fancy dress princess or pirate themed event saw their staff join in the fun too.” Manager Susan Wiggans and operational business manager Chris Hook dressed up as princesses for the day, while their proactive support lead, Mandy Brodie Crow, and proactive support team manager Rachel Wiggans looked very menacing as pirates. “Their site at Grange Lane was brim full of stalls selling goodies including colourful cushions, plants, flowers and homegrown vegetables, homemade cakes, refreshments, a bbq, a tombola, plus bumper raffle prizes, while live music was also enjoyed by all.
“The children were also well catered for.
“They all loved the face painting lady as well as the enormous pirate-shaped bouncy castle, while enjoying the fantastic surroundings of the individually designed gardens by the service users.”
