Charity bingo night to be held in honour of popular businessman

A CHARITY bingo night has been organised to raise money for charity and to remember local businessman Naragen Singh, who died in December.

The event, which is raising funds for Magpas Helimedix, is being held in the events room of the Majestic Suite, at Deans Bar, on Newnham Street in Ely on March 28. Doors open at 7.30pm and eyes down at 8pm. Entrance is 50p.

Naragen - who ran the Spar shop in New Barns Road for many years - died after the car he was driving hit a house on the corner of Lynn Road and Egremont Street last year, having suffered a heart attack. A community vigil was held outside Narajen’s shop in his honour and, at his beloved Ely City Football Club, a minute’s silence was observed before the team’s home game against Woodbridge.
