The council of St George’s Church in Littleport is asking residents to have their say on how it can be improved.

The church has been in need of repairs for a number of years and now the council is reaching out to the public for feedback on how it can be given a new lease of life.

Council member Tony Bridgstock said: “The interior is in need of some serious repairs – primarily because the floor is in a very bad state of repair.

“This will be a major undertaking and will involve a great deal of disruption and fund raising. If we are to take on this task, we need to maximise the opportunity and remodel the interior of the church building to make it accessible to a larger number of groups. It is well used at present, but there is the scope for much more.

“We need to find out what the community thinks the church should offer and look for ideas and suggestions from outside the regular congregation – after all, it is their church.”

The survey can be completed online at www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/church5/ and copies will be available at the Christmas Market at the church from 10am on December 10.

Those who complete a survey will have be entered into a draw to win £25 of High Street vouchers.
