HUNDREDS of people turned out in the spring sunshine for Ely's Eel Day on Saturday. The day started with a town crier competition on Palace Green and later in the day there were various stalls and other activities in Jubilee Gardens. The winner of the town crier competition was Robert Needham from Colchester.
