THIEF Daniel Gillett was caught on CCTV as he stole two packs of sweets from the One Stop store in Ely.
He hid the confectionary in his top. walked out of the premises, and later told police he could not remember the incident.
Gillett, currently being supervised by the probation service and subject to a drug rehabilitation order, appeared before Ely magistrates on Thursday.
"It was a stupid thing to do," he told the court after admitting the theft of sweets worth £2.38.
"At that time I did not have a prescription, but now I have a prescription and things are going well."
Fining Gillett £30 and telling him to pay £2.38 compensation and £25 costs, presiding magistrate Hamish Ross said: "It seems this happened in the bad old days. You are now getting your life in order, and the probation service is happy with what you are doing so far.
