Cara and Daisy raise £550 for Cancer Research UK by taking part in Shine Night Walk

Two friends who work in Ely and live in Chatteris have raised £550 for charity by taking part in the Cancer Research Shine Night Walk.

Cara Fresher, who works at G’s Fresh, Ely and Daisy Rowell joined 17,000 others to walk a full marathon - 26.2 miles - in London overnight on September 24.

Starting off at Southwark Park, the pair powered through their mammoth walk, eventually reaching the finish line at Old Billingsgate Market in just under 11 hours.

Cara said: “It’s a charity that’s close to my heart, and this seemed like a great challenge to take on.

“After my grandma passed away in January I wanted to do something in memory of her.”
