A PEDESTRIAN was injured after a car left a busy Ely road and careered up onto the pavement.
The incident took place shortly after 2.30pm on Broad Street, with the driver of a car losing control of his vehicle and colliding with a telephone terminal on the pavement.
The driver, a man, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge while a pedestrian who suffered minor injuries in the incident was treated at the scene.
Police closed Broad Street at the junction with Back Hill and motorists are being advised to avoid the area while the scene is cleared.
