A Cambridgeshire man is hosting a quiz night to raise money for a charity that helped his cousin who suffered a stroke weeks after celebrating his 16th birthday.
Stuart Baker is holding the fundraiser at Cottenham Sports and Social Club to thank the Stroke Association for supporting his cousin Harry.
The 24-year-old said: “We’ve always been incredibly close, and I think of Harry as more of a younger brother.
“Harry excels academically and at sport, he has a large group of friends, and was entering his GCSE year at the time of his stroke, so this means a massive re-adjustment for him and his parents.
“I never realised young people could have strokes, and neither had most of the people that I have spoken to about Harry’s experience.
“I am inspired almost daily by Harry’s courage, bravery, determination and perseverance against the odds.
“Thankfully, the care Harry has received has been incredible, and the support from family, friends and his school has helped keep Harry’s spirits up.

“As a result of his stroke, Harry’s life has changed forever, but the connection that we have always had will only grow stronger through this and I’m so proud of him.”
Stuart is inviting teams of six to join him at Cottenham Sports and Social on Friday March 31 from 7.30pm.
He is raising money for the Stroke Association and CALM, a charity which raises awareness of depression amongst young men across the UK.
Stuard added: “I’m really looking forward to the night now.
“Everyone has been really helpful in spreading the word, we have had raffle prizes donated and have already raised over £700.”
