Lucy Frazer MP for South East Cambridgeshire has nominated chefs from local pubs for the 2017/18 Young Parliamentary Pub Chef of the Year award.

Lizzie Claydon of the Millworks restaurant, Cambridge, and Gemma Steele and Chiara Maio of the Crown and Punchbowl, Horningsea, have been put forward for the award.

All three chefs work for Cambscuisine, a group of eight restaurants in and around Cambridgeshire.

The Cambscuisine nominees will join a host of other chefs from around the country, competing for the Pub Chef of the Year Award from the two categories, Pub Chef and Young Pub Chef of the Year.

They will be judged by a panel that will shortlist contenders for the cook-off. They will display their skills to organisers as well as judges from the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group and TV guest chef presenter and former Michelin star holder, Paul Merrett.

The award will be presented in February at the House of Commons.

Ms Frazer said: “The Parliamentary Pub Chef of the Year Award offers a great opportunity to celebrate and showcase some of that talent and I wish Lizzie, Gemma, and Chiara the best of luck!”
