It has been a fine year for Soham cadet Morwenna Woodbridge – and she has had it topped off by receiving the Pride of Soham Award.
Morwenna, 16, joined the Soham branch of the Royal British Legion just over a year ago and since then has began training for standard bearing.
Her skills saw her win the Cambridgeshire Youth standard bearer competition and the Regional final before she went on to finish in fifth at the national event held in Manchester.
She has also completed her GCSEs in the last year and claimed a place at Norwich City’s Football Academy.
Morwenna was handed her award by Soham Town Councillor Rosemary Aitchison at the council’s September meeting.
Cllr Aitchison said: “Morwenna is a young lady we are delighted to have as a resident of Soham.
“She is a very talented young lady and I would like to take this opportunity to wish her luck and best wishes in everything she does in the future.”
