BUSTER Bloodvessel and a host of national headliners from the 1980s will be appearing at the Fordham music festival next month. Fordhamfest is a three-day festival, which stars on August 10 and will raise money for Cambridge's oldest mental health charity, Cam Mind.

Friday sees Buster, with the legendary Bad Manners, with support from The Ruts.

On Saturday, Zodiac Mindwarp and The Love Reaction will be supported by The Oliver Wakeman Band, starring the son of Rik Wakemen from Yes, and on Sunday,

Neville Staples, formerly of The Specials and founder of Fun Boy Three, will top the bill.

There will also be 30 highly-rated unsigned bands, including Koopa and Wim Roelants, who featured in this year's London Guitar Show.

Organiser, Angela Lee, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the line-up, there are some superb bands playing and it's been great to get Buster back on board. He played last year, but many people missed out because of the bad weather, so they will get an opportunity to see him again."

There is plenty of children's entertainment at the Cheeky Chimps Marquee, where there will be a jungle-themed fancy dress party, music and arts workshops, a 'go bananas' treasure hunt, face painting, bouncy castles and more.

Star FM will bring their big black bouncy pig and there will be dance music through from Saturday afternoon and late Saturday night at the Funky Monkey's Tent.

Big Brother star Tracey Barnard has worked as a steward since the festival started four years ago and if she is voted out of the Big Brother House in time, she will make an appearance as special guest presenter.

Mrs Lee said: "We all wish Tracey all the best in the house and we hope she stays on and wins. But, if she is voted out, it would be wonderful to have her here. She'd bring loads of energy and fun to the event."

INFO: The festival will be held by Ness Road, off the B1102 Fordham bypass. It will be from 8am-4am each day. Tickets are £45 for the full weekend, £15 for the Friday, and £20 for Saturday or Sunday. There will be an extra £5 fee for those paying on the gate.

All children under 14 will get in for free with a paying adult, and there will be free camping and parking for all.

Tickets are available by going on-line to www.fordhamfest.co.uk or by calling 01638 721438.
