Half-a-century later and Fred is still going strong in the firm’s heating and plumbing division and he has no plans yet to hang up his plunger.
The 65-year-old, who know lives in Soham, was honoured with a special ceremony led by boss Trevor, who knew Fred long before he joined the company as a fresh-faced apprentice.
Trevor said: “Fred still enjoys coming in every day and he said that he has no plans yet for retire. We all really hope he won’t.”
